You might think that Tuck Pass would be the high point and then you drop down to the lakes. But Tuck Pass is just a notch in a ridge and the trail to the lakes continues uphill for another 3/4 milt, gaining maybe 300 feet to an unnamed pass that looks down on the lakes. There is an upper tarn and if you look closely, two lakes below.
The trail takes its time, dropping gradually over 3 miles, passing this nice meadow
There is a narrow strip of land that separates the two lower lakes, and we were camped next to the lower one on that strip.
A grassy area next to camp was on the lakeshore
As the sun went down, the lake was in the shade but the distant ridge still sunny
Sunset brought a nice reflection on the rock-bound upper lake
As did sunrise
Finally it was time to leave, the view looking back up towards the lakes
Final challenge was this bridge not far from the car, where the drinks in the cooler were still cold!
