Mt Sill

Mt Sill is in the Palisade range of the Sierra Nevada and guards the left (south) end of the group of peaks around the Palisade Glacier. The easiest route on it is class IV, but has a reputation for having a lot of loose rock. For this trip, accompanied by Doug and Paul, we climbed a moderate technical route called the Swiss Arete, rated 5.5, and then rapelled down the class IV route. It was one of the most enjoyable moderate technical routes I did in the High Sierra.
