Mt Hood: Gnarl Ridge and Mt Hood Meadows

A three day / two night backpack on the east side of Mt Hood at the end of August.

Classic Gnarl Ridge viewpoint at 6500 feet

My first nights camp just off the ridge, and also away from the Timberline Trail.

Camp again, I call this Moon Basin Camp.

The sun went behind that bump on Mt Hood at about 6pm. It was a cold night.

Water source was about a quarter mile away.

Wildflowers still out at the end of August.
