The Hoh Valley is on the west side of the Olympic Peninsula and Olympic National Park. From highway 101, the road goes 12 miles to the park border, and then another 6 miles to a ranger station, a campground that apparently never fills up, and the trailhead. A sign at the trailhead says that they get 142 inches of precipitation annually there, and well over 200 inches well up canyon.
