On this trip, originally planned for 2007, but canceled due to fires on the approach roads, I was joined by my Colorado ski partners, Paul and Sue. We met at Medical Springs, OR, and camped at the trailhead. Then we went in on Eagle Creek. They had one less day then I, so I finished the trip on my own.

We crossed Eagle Creek to find a more private camping area; Needle Point above.

Our water source was the outlet from Bear Lake, a few hundred yards east of the camp perch.

Looking up the valley of Eagle Creek, Needle Point again dominates.
We dayhiked straight up the hillside to Bear Lake, bypassing the longer trail.
We took the longer trail back, and passed by Culver Lake.
