I left Wisnor Place the next morning for the hike out. Wisnor Place is in a side canyon containing Temperance Creek, and the Temperance Creek Trail gains almost exactly 4000 feet in 7 miles to reach Warnock Corral. The question was how hot and sunny it would be on this climb - ended up having decent mixed cloud-cover, and once above 5000 feet, the heat abates nicely.
The trail has three segments. The first follows close to the main creek in the Temperance Creek Canyon, gaining altitude more slowly. The brush was thick in this section and the trail occasionally disappeared, but all you do is stay in the canyon.
After about 2 and a half miles, you start climbing more steeply in a side canyon, soon passing that 5000 foot mark and leaving most trees behind. The trail is clear from here on.
At the top of that canyon, you reach a saddle at 5500 feet and have open views of Hells Canyon for the first time going up - and a great place for a long break.
The last segment of the trail switchbacks on the side of the main canyon. Once passed 6000 feet, I was at the altitude where flowers were again peaking.

Back at the car, the ice chest had done it's wonders and my beer and bag of cherries from the tree at home were very cold. It was warm with a breeze and there was a picnic table at the trailhead that I hung out at for hours. An old dead tree had a local who caught my attention.
That night I camped on the rim again next to the car at the Saddle Creek Campground, a few miles down the road from Hat Point. A fitting end for the trip.
