I did an overnight backpack with Bob from the Meadows trailhead up Gnarl Ridge to a camp high on the ridge at 7200 feet.
We got to camp at 6pm, and as the sun set, Mt Hood cast a shadow on Lookout Mtn.
Bob said the sun would rise the next morning over a rock on the ridge, he was right
